Gladiators is set to make a sensational return in fall 2023, but until now we didn’t know exactly who will don a leotard and follow in the footsteps of Wolf, Jet and Cobra.
MH Elite trainer and former cover star Zack George was one of the first athletes to announce that he will hit our screens as Gladiator ‘Steel’. Now the full line up has been revealed and includes former cover star Lee Philips along with a host of other athletes and fitness influencers.

Steel: Zack George
CrossFit athlete and MH Elite Zack George won the UK Fittest Man title in 2020. He was our November 2020 cover star and a regular workout contributor for Men’s Health. Here are 5 of his best workouts:

Fury: Jodie Ounsley
Jodie Ounsley is a professional rugby union player for Exeter Chiefs and former England Women’s Rugby Sevens player. She is also the British champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and was crowned Deaf Sports Personality of the Year in 2020.
Giant: Jamie Christian Johal
6ft 5inches Jamie Christian Johal is a former firefighter and one of the [strange fact alert] the tallest Open IFBB PRO bodybuilders in the UK.
Legend: Matt Morsia
Also known as ‘MattDoesFitness’, Morsia is a former international athlete but now better known as a YouTuber, bodybuilder and powerlifter, who is happy to take on any challenge in the name of fitness.
Fire: Montell Douglas
A former Team GB sprinter, Montell Douglas held the British woman’s record for fastest 100m sprint with 11.05 seconds. Among other athletic achievements, in 2010 she won the Commonwealth Gold in the 4 x 100m relay.
Nitro: Harry Aikines-Aryeetey
A Commonwealth and World Gold Medal sprinter, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey has amassed a string of gold, silver and bronze medals over the years for his efforts. Find out how he built his body here.
Diamond: Livi Sheldon
Livi Sheldon is a British bodybuilder and finalist for England Toned Figure and previously played football for the Worcester City women’s team.
Saber: Sheli McCoy
Sheli McCoy has competed in numerous British Championships in Weightlifting and CrossFit and was Scottish Champion in both.
Apollo: Alex Grey
A former Premiership and England 7s rugby player, he joined the Atlanta Falcons NFL team roster in May 2017, making him the first rugby player to move to the NFL from the UK.
Dynamite: Emily Steel
Emily Steel is a CrossFit athlete and British under-23 weightlifting record holder.
Comet: Ella-Mae Rayner
Model and fitness coach, Ella-Mae Rayner was a former elite gymnast, competed in the college cheerleading leagues and took part in semi-professional diving.
Athena: Karenjeet Kaur Bains
Karenjeet Kaur Bains is the winner of three gold and two silver medals in Commonwealth Powerlifting, is a five time All England Powerlifting Champion and a five time British Powerlifting Champion representing Team GB. She is also the Guinness World Record holder for “Most Bodyweight Squats in One Minute”.
Very proud of her South Asian heritage, like before Sikh Gladiator wants to inspire people of all backgrounds to reach their full potential.
Bionic: Matty Campbell
Bodybuilder Matty Campbell played youth soccer, reaching academy level but had to stop due to a car accident. He found his love for the gym during the rehabilitation process.
Viper: Quang Luong
Bodybuilder Quang Luong is a fitness enthusiast and boxer who has been cast in action films as James Bond appearing as a gangster.
Electro: Jade Packer
Jade Packer is a four time top three UKBFF bodybuilder turned CrossFit enthusiast who works as a sports model and fitness coach.
Ghost: Toby Olubi
Toby Olubi was part of the Team GB Bobsleigh squad where he broke the world record for the fastest bobsled ever at 97mph at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The referees
Lee Phillips, Sonia Mkoloma and Mark Clattenburg
The Gladiators will be monitored and refereed by our cover star: Lee Phillips. He will work alongside former England international netball player Sonia Mkoloma and former football referee Mark Clattenburg. In addition to being a former cover star, Phillips is a firefighter and athlete and has won gold in the Ultimate Firefighter and various CrossFit competitions.

Kate is a fitness writer for Men’s Health in the UK where she contributes regular workouts, training tips and nutrition guides. She has a postgraduate diploma in Sports Performance Nutrition and prior to joining Mens Health she was a nutritionist, fitness writer and personal trainer with over 5,000 hours of coaching in the gym. Kate has a keen interest in volunteering for animal shelters and when she’s not lifting weights in her backyard, she can be found walking her rescue dog.
